I have a short question about the distance between the Upper Face Brace and the X Brace - maybe you can help me. :)

In the video about Soundboard Bracing Mark says that the edge of the X Brace should be as close as possible to the Upper Face Brace. Is there a minimum distance both Braces should have? Or is it possible to place them next to each other without any problems?

I'm looking forward to your reply! Thank you very much!

A question I have with regards to the curved bracings is, that, the lower face bracings are not placed centred on the soundboard, but the curve is centered on the bracing, it is creating a curve in the lower part of the lower bout, off the centre line of the guitar. What is the reason for this?
My guess it has to do with string tension of the heavier strings, trying to pull the bridge upwards diagonally (since the lighter strings, don't have the same pulling force ), which causes the soundboard wanting to belly diagonally from the lower bout bottom towards the upperbout?

Whilst marking out and cutting the braces I note that the upper transverse graft is if a different wood than the one you are demonstrating with in the video. I take it that this is ok. Also I have another smaller piece of the same wood that I can’t seem to identify. Please see pic. Thsnks
