My stored mahogany back plates (pre-jointed) have turned into gutter pipes.

Can this be used to advantage in preparation for gluing the arched braces?

Or

Should I be trying to correct this before jointing? They are currently on shelves with stickers and a mild weight, the apex of the cup facing upwards. Nothing has moved with respect to the cupping for months now.

There is not really any way to use this to your advantage - if you glue it to the braces 'cupped' it may just straighten out and take the braces with it!

Does it sit flat under the 'mild weight'? If so then it should be OK to continue...a pic might help ?

Measure twice, cut once...

They need a bit of force - I have them sitting in my plate joining jig.

They are still within the arch of a back arch template, so I'm hoping for the best.
