I have a nice fit for the posts of a Wilkinson Trem but want to tighten them up a tad to minimise the risk of them rising under string tension.

Tips and techniques please...

  • Teflon tape?
  • a blob of white glue?

thanks

No...this will make it worse

Yes! If you need to get them out you can heat them gently with a soldering iron until the glue lets go.

I've also used epoxy to fix slightly looser ferrules  - not ideal but easily reversible the same way using heat.

Measure twice, cut once...
