Yes and I made the body width a bit too wide so the top only just fitted 

Don’t think I would build a kit again it’s harder than starting from scratch as the parts are pre cut for assembly in a factory jig and have to be lined up perfectly for gluing with no room for error

i forgot to say that it’s a Martin kit guitar I got when I visited the factory years ago so can’t take all the credit.

Still a fair bit to do though. The back wasn’t joined and was 1mm too thick and I planed it by hand. Yes I used what was free at the time but not the greatest to work with. I will also have to varnish the inside as the chipboard made some small scratches on the wood which need sanding.

Got the back on as well now but I need to modify the mold a bit as it’s too wide in some places. The rubber bands catch on the edge and don’t put enough pressure on the guitar.

Made it from an old bit of kitchen worktop. I prefer a mold where the ribs go on the outside which I’ve always used in the past. Easier to do the clamping.

Gluing the top on at last. Having a dry clamping run first and think I need to find some more old bicycle inner tubes before the real thing.

Yes you definitely need more clamping :-)
