<p>As @nsj say, regular length shafts should be ok. The threaded part of a normal pickup switch is probably about the same length as well. Check the thickness around the holes regularly while routing the control cavity.</p>

<p>I've just done the dish method for my carve top today. I put something flat inside the cavity then used a vernier gauge to check the depth of the holes and routered the cavity till the holes were about 6mm. Regular cts pots fit fine.</p>
