Im in south Scotland and don’t know of any guitar making gatherings. Maybe it’s something to organise, like a weekend in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Welcome Justin. There are a good few guitar builders in Scotland but I don't know of any particular gatherings in person. 

Doing one of Mark's in person workshops would be a good start. 

If you have the time to spare then you could enroll in the Stringed Instrument Making course at Anniesland college in Glasgow (Glasgow Clyde College)  

You'll get a lot of advice and encouragement here...... just ask the question and we'll try to help.
