Good point.. But yes you guessed that I Wasn't confident enough to know the final depth of the neck heel to know what leeway I have.

I'm trying to follow Mark's course in order so I don't get too confused..

So you weren’t able to trim a bit off of the bottom of the neck heel to make it fit the saw? I guess you needed the length or it would be too risky to cut without knowing the exact length?

Nice bit of handsawing though.  TBH, this is the real value in watching other people's builds.  Mark's videos never (ok, hardly ever) go wrong.  He's got all the kit that he needs to do things the way he does them.  We don't get to see the "oh bugger, the bandsaw depth is too shallow" bits.
