Flame maple top, stain, faux binding, high gloss spray job, diamond inlays.... All in 5 days????

There is not time on the course for a gloss finish so it is done here - for e.g Mike did 4 build days in the workshop and then left it with us - Then he came back for the set up and assembly day...

On my course in June I assembled my build and did the set up without finish and then left it as it is a 6 hour drive each way from home so a second visit would have been a pain.
Hardware was removed, finish applied (high gloss on body front, satin on the rest with decal on headstock) and re-assembled and then it was couriered to me.

Mark, you are using UV curing, am I correct? I'm curious... What kind of laquer and lamps are you using? Would it be feasable (i.e. worth the hassle and funds) for the hobby guitar builder? Maybe interesting to describe your method for us?

Yes - we use a system from cureUV - we got ours a long time ago and it has been pretty much rebuilt here (cheers George!) as parts have worn out.
It is VERY expensive to buy and to run but for us it is worth it - you will have to decide for yourself...Did I mention it is expensive...? Brace yourself....

BTW, are you familiar with Chris Monk from Highline Guitars in the States? He has a nice Youtube channel and uses a product called Solarez UV cured polyester resin. He finishes a guitar body with the stuff, walks outside and turns it to the sunlight for a minute and presto.......
