cherry is beautiful wood tv1, love the way it ages and gets darker with exposure to light over time.

Great to see a completely new design - and loved the video too. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video must be worth quite a few pictures!

I used cherry, oiled finish, for one of my first builds. It aged really nicely - I’m sure it looks nicer today than when I made it!

Just figured I'd share this with you guys. Today I made a fret slotting jig in preparation for the next build. That's right, I'm not going to use a pre-made board this time. The supplier that I buy most of my wood materials from frequently has a deal where if you buy a body blank you get a free fretboard blank of your choice. So now I have 3 (free of charge) rosewood rough-cut blanks.

The walls were cut to a specific height so I could use them as both a saw guide and a depth stop. The slot had to be cut using the fretting saw itself to make sure there wouldn't be any wiggle.
