I must say, this is the first project I am absolutely, completely 99,5% satisfied with.... (there's always something, right?)

I think I'll call it The Vaccinator and inlay a seringe in the truss rod cover.....

You know, because of the pointiness.......

Very much like the body woods - showing the grain, but adding the purpleheart strips for some extra wow.

Beautiful instrument, the contrast with the black hardware and stripes against the wood colour works really well.

Is that headstock intended to double as a heckler jabbing device or is it just to stop the singer cutting your solo short?

(Both reasonable uses in my opinion).

It's a great looking guitar.

@e-den-hertog Awesome ! That looks really good to me. It may be Marks' design, but the choice and combination of woods and hardware looks so good. The finish is great and it seems like a well executed build. Whats next on the list? a neck-through project perhaps? 😎

Specs:

Swamp ash body with purple heart splines

Flamed maple 2-piece neck with ebony fretboard and 3 mm dots

Gotoh Wilkinson VS100 trem, Axetec locking tuners, Graph Tec Trem nut

Irongear Steam Hammer humbuckers and Pig Iron overwound middle pickup

Wipe-on poly finish

Tone with push/push for coil split, volume with push/push for adding middle pickup to any Humbucker combination, 3-way switch

As mentioned I had some problems with the high E string choking out, but after a second go at levelling it plays like a dream.... I can set the action lower than is comfortable to play, so I'm very happy.... It is stable and sounds thight and focussed with a very decent Strat quack in the usual pickup combinations.
