RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

Had to play IT support today for my lads first day back at school, remote learning and all that, so not much done. But sat in the kitchen and made a humbucker template from mdf, so not a total loss. C...

So far the saw is a treat, bloody heavy though! Can you put it on a wheeled stand @peebee? Ikm guessing that you mention the weight because you’re having to move it around. A wheeled stand would mak...

So far the saw is a treat, bloody heavy though! Seems easy to set up and the blades are easy to change, I would say it’s the best quality tool I own. There are also some good support videos on YouTube...

@peebee I meant to ask you, how do you like that saw? I‘m in the market for a new one and Record Power seems like a good choice. How is the quality/stability? Overall impression? Thanks a lot!

Slight alteration, I have changed the pick ups to Humbuckers as these came in the Bailey kit. Trial fit of components on the drawing....all seems to fit. 2nd build will be P90s. Attachment : 604E5...

Thanks, no more progress to report, although I did get a Bailey kit and a Bagpress fret slotting jig from Santa, no excuses now. Bandsaw is a Record BS300

@peebee The practicecaster looks really good. I like how you took the belly carve into the top bout. Any more progress? What kind of bandsaw do you have?

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

@Peebee Are you actually going to turn this into a guitar? Get it done, there's nothing wrong with an old bit of pine. The huge knot in mine is now a feature.

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

Nothing wrong with that. As far as the knot is concerned, you could reinforce it with epoxy. Could do, I’ll get stuck into the Bailey kit after Christmas and poss make this into guitar number 2. It ...

It’s about 4 pieces of scrap pine dug out of the shed glued together. @peebee Nothing wrong with that. As far as the knot is concerned, you could reinforce it with epoxy.

RE: Starting the process, guitar number 1

Thanks Boo, it came out ok. I’m not sure it’ll work as a real body as there is a whacking great knot in the neck pocket, but I might give it a go. It’s about 4 pieces of scrap pine dug out of the shed...

The practice belly carve, came out ok, thanks to Mark for showing the method. @peebee Yeah, nice work, very neat. Are you actually going to turn this into a guitar? I think you should.

Had a go at a belly carve today on a scrap wood tele body that I have made as practice. Turned out pretty well, draw two lines, make two facets and join em up...simples. @peebee Excellent! It’s not t...
