I made it this evening. The method I used (may help others, I dunno):I cut it rough on the bandsaw, used a straight edge as a guide then routed it nice and straight along the edges:
Job done! 🙂

@markbaileyI wasn’t clear enough, I am making it longer than the neck but not as long as the one you made. I’ll watch the video again. Thanks.

I am working through making the jigs and patterns and my next job is the neck taper pattern. I was planning on making it a bit shorter than the one in Mark’s course video. I plan on making one just a bit… Read more»

Quickly made a neck caul. I used cork for the strips, hopefully this should work nicely.

@jonathan-aucklandThanks for the advice. In the past I’ve made it up as I’ve went along so I’m hoping by planning things out and following the videos I will be a bit more successful. I don’t mind making mistakes, that’s how… Read more»

So… a new blade arrived, I fit it… I set the table nice and square and the bandsaw cuts in nice straight lines. Thanks all. 🙂

Made the headstock angle jig today. I figured that I am only using it to clamp the neck and route the headstock angle so I made it a little bit shorter.
Fretboard caul next.

When I fit the new blade and set everything up I will check the fence. But it wanders without the fence although I guess the table surface may have been slightly out – I’ll check that too. Thanks.

Yesterday I made the neck heel angle jig.
I’ve never made one of these before and angling the heel of a guitar neck is one of the top mistakes I’ve made in the past. The next jig will be the headstock… Read more»

I’ve had a go at making guitars in the past, but they generally turn out bad. In fact bad is giving them too much praise. I’ve made so many mistakes there isn’t enough disk space on all the servers on… Read more»

@markbaileyI am happy to post the entire ‘blog’ here and not to the wider Internet? I find that when I write stuff down it makes me do things better… weird but that’s what I am like! 🙂

@frocesterbillThanks, must have missed the pdf! 😬 anyway, I have ordered a 3/8 blade from Draper. I’ll report back when I’ve installed and tested it. 😀

@syntholaboThat’s a really good video, thanks. Incidentally the blade snapped today! I’m going to try a wider blade take look at the setup.

I have a Draper 250w bandsaw with a maximum cutting depth of about 80 – 85mm. I’ve set it up according to the manual, it cuts wood fine but the blade wanders a bit, cutting straight is quite a challenge…. Read more»
