I may have to do the same. It’s been really expensive trying to get everything together for my first build: power tools, materials, hardware. I’ve got to start making compromises now.

Why is everything ridiculously expensive when it come to guitar building? The only fret slot spacing ruler I can find is on Crimson’s website but it’s £47, that seems very over priced to me. Does anyone know where else sell… Read more»

Ok, silly question. Is there a difference between a profile cutter and a trimmer? I’m looking on Trend’s website and they use they words on different router bits.

I’m still not really understanding why Mark made it sound like glued on neck = nut after fretboard, bolt on neck = nut secured in the fretboard. Like that’s how it should be.

In the course Mark says that the nut on a glued on neck is positioned at the fretboard end whereas on a bolt on neck it is positioned after the fretboard. Why is this?

Does anyone know where I can purchase the exact nut used in the Build Your Own Electric Guitar course? It states 3/16″ TUSQ slotted but no info about length and height (and what about slot spacing?).

Hi all, brand new member and subscriber here with a question regarding fret slot depth. After sawing the slot won’t there be a gap underneath the middle of the fret? Wouldn’t this give us a dead fret?
