Another is a burl, they look amazing! This is an elm burl with just thinned down oil based polyurethane. How insane does that look?!!

@tv101 Yes the CnC is so cool. I use it now to make templates. Huge time saver and super accurate especially if you have the proper router bits which I really need. I just love the pleasure of cutting wood.

@tv101 Yes it can be pricey but works well. Rub in a small amount with a soft cloth. Good for ebony where hand sweat leaves a deposit over time as it’s mildly abrasive, but not so much to wear away… Read more»

Ebony polish is what I use on violin fingerboard. It’s a brand called Old Wood and you don’t need much. -
