I still think we *all* should, and make a photo diary (or video if we’re able) of the process, and make that content available to Mark for his YT channel.

A sort of “inspired by” response to Mark’s original Lockdown Lucy build.

If others (non-members perhaps) see our results, it might encourage them to join up and have a go too, perhaps buy a Bailey kit, etc.

@tv1010101 Good for you. Making a photo/video diary and will record original material with it for the soundtrack. Will include a sound demo and description as well. Electronics on this one is quite interesting and excited to see the results.

@tv1010101 Yep, I’m up for that! I made a photo diary of my first Bailey Bandsman a few years ago. @markbailey you can use any of this content. I am still up for building another one though, I’m planning it now and the good thing is, I still have the drawing to reference.

My Bandsman build is underway ...

I nicked 45mins from my working day today (IIRC, that used to be called "lunch time").

Printed the (a4) plans, stuck them together, cut out the shape, stuck to the mdf, and cut it out.

I now have an mdf body template.

Next job, neck template.  I'm going to draw that out full size first.

Is there any value in an extra length neck - so that the joint goes all the way through to the bridge pickup cavity?

@tv101 I’ve still got all my routing templates from my first build, I’ll just get them off the shelf. I think I’ll deviate slightly and make a scarf neck.

I don’t know whether an extra length neck construction will do anything or not but it sounds interesting. Go for it! 

OK, here we go, a Bandsman is being initiated. I'm gathering all of my jigs and templates and I've got a nice chunk of Poplar for the body.

I don't think that my first practice build falls into the bandsman category, but iv'e already got my Bailey kit for my next one, so bandsman it will be.
