My Mrs just recently found out that I have a Bailey's electric kit in my garage waiting to get started. Apparently I had been sneaky.
@robin Robin, it’s that Mark Bailey @markbailey and his tempting guitar kits. This addiction can get people into serious bother. Ask me how I know. 🤣

What an excellent thread.
I've been mostly offline for a couple of days so now feel like I've missed the birth of this build, and it seems like its developing quickly!
(Or maybe it was the conception stage? If so, don't feel quite so bad about missing it. 😆 ).
Great advice from Mr @Boo too - I like this "here's a custom video to explain something" approach - nice work sir!

@tv101 Thanks Tony, sometimes I find it easier to have audio/visual explanation rather than typing it all out in text (definitely easier for me as I’m dyslexic 🤣).

Yep great videos from Boo and advice all round.
It is a drawing and some jigs at present, but like I say Mrs Peebee has ordered me a kit so there won't be any work done yet on the real guitar. I do have some practice wood set aside ready and waiting for me to have a go at, I have already practiced making a neck and that went quite well with no major cock ups. I want to practice some carving of the body as well and will do hopefully this side of Christmas but well see, I have a couple of other chores I need to get done too.
But it is already addictive and I am not looking forward to being back at work flat out in the summer. I might be able to retire in 4 or 5 years time, I can't wait.
Give up the news folks, it’s liberating!
A couple of little jobs done today. First swapped my bandsaw blade as it was blunt.
Made the headstock thickness jig, nice and simple that one and three sanding blocks made from some mdf. I think that really just leaves the neck taper jig and we are in good shape to get started.

@peebee Yeah! Now you’re getting it. 🤘😁🤘🎸

Had a go at a belly carve today on a scrap wood tele body that I have made as practice. Turned out pretty well, draw two lines, make two facets and join em up...simples.
I will add a picture tomorrow.

@peebee Excellent! It’s not that difficult really is it? It’s always worth having a practice on some scrap first though. Good on ya!

Thanks Boo, it came out ok. I’m not sure it’ll work as a real body as there is a whacking great knot in the neck pocket, but I might give it a go. It’s about 4 pieces of scrap pine dug out of the shed glued together.

Nothing wrong with that. As far as the knot is concerned, you could reinforce it with epoxy.
Could do, I’ll get stuck into the Bailey kit after Christmas and poss make this into guitar number 2.
It was great to practice on though and that was its purpose.
