I’ve got all the butterflies in, sanded everything and applied some Danish Oil, 3 coats so far. Not a bad finish that, for a work bench. I might give it one more coat for good measure.

@robin I know, I’m only kidding. I’ll probably beat the hell out of it over time. 😂 I will treat the top with several coats of poly though, to protect it from too much staining.

@robin Hahaha….. Nice one Robin, that’s really cool. I love the fact that your wife saw rubbish and you saw a bending iron. I’m exactly the same, I never want to throw out the stuff I find.

@nickkuk Sounds like you have everything under control, I agree with all of that. 
Yeah I think that when things are rough cut, it reminds me of Ceefax graphics from the 80s and 90s. 😂

Used a small router to hog out the majority to the waste, then fine cut the rest out with chisels. Glued one in and left it overnight. I’ll plane it down today and sand it flush.
