RE: Robin's build #002 No worries Robin. I was pretty sure that I had some when I posted last night, but didn't want to offer it until I'd checked today. You do realise that the bit @Boo sends you will be painted in pink gl... |

RE: Robin's build #002 @robin I would say that’s a pretty good repair and it looks like the grain lines match. Don’t be put off by how many attempts it takes before you are happy with it. I’ve seen web posts from top profes... |

RE: Robin's build #002 @boo Thanks for that, you're a star. @Rocknroller912 I took your advice and chiselled a bit out to make a straight line and glued a piece in. I had two goes at it, my first effort was pathetic so I c... |

RE: Robin's build #002 @robin Good luck. Repairs and restorations are about deceiving the eye, so straight lines don’t always have to be at 90 deg they can be at an angle to match grain lines. |

RE: Robin's build #002 Thanks for the advice @Rocknroller912, I've plenty maple offcuts and it's not really in a conspicuous place so the bigger bit that I cut out will be mostly hidden inside the neck pocket. |

RE: Robin's build #002 @robin Small chip like that are hard to fix, sometime you have to make them bigger to fit a patch. Maple doesn’t usually look good with sawdust and glue, probably need real wood. I would do this bit f... |

RE: 60's Telecaster build - Which pickups? The saw needs to be quite tight in the rollers or it can go off 90 deg. I’m assuming you have the fretboard stuck with double sided tape to the metal scale. I also use wooded wedges between the wood a... |

RE: 60's Telecaster build - Which pickups? @koendb Looks like you have the same type of metal fret cutting jig as me. The saw needs to be quite tight in the rollers or it can go off 90 deg. I’m assuming you have the fretboard stuck with double... |
