RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar @rocknroller912 I kinda wonder if it would be the other way around. I've been doing a lot of reading and watching others making their laminated sides and I've seen a few that, when they are done lamin... |

RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar @koendb Its a hard learning curve by yourself. I went through it many years ago and have never actually done a guitar making course, only violins. You can show us on the video call next Tuesday if you... |

RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar Posted by: @rocknroller912 Are you building on a flat board or using a mold. @Rocknroller912 I am using a flat board just like Mark does in the course. Posted by: @rocknroller912 I wonder if the ... |

RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar @koendb I wonder if the bass side will have a muted response due to it being thicker. Difficult to sand it once the body shape is made but not impossible. Are you building on a flat board or using a m... |

RE: Accoustic kit ordered @powerful : YES! Neck angle looks spot on - looks like there will be about 9mm space for the bridge once the frets are in - perfect. We can all stop worrying 🙂 |

RE: Accoustic kit ordered @koendb thanks very much. It's all masked up now and ready for sealing etc. Should look pretty good as long as you don't look too closely. It's at this stage where I need to be brutally honest with... |

RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar Posted by: @rocknroller912 Side bending is best done in one go. The longer you leave it the more the wood will dry and become brittle. @rocknroller912 Ah I did not know that. Luckily for me, it seem... |

RE: My first steps in building an acoustic guitar A couple of days ago, I started to bend one of the sides, which was still a bit too thick. ( 2.4 ~ 2.5 mm ) It took me quite a while, especially from the waist into the upper bout. Since it took so lo... |

RE: Warping fretboard If you can press it down flat easily by hand, then it will be fine. If not - might be a good idea to let it settle for a while - then level the gluing face. Warping is usually caused by rapid change... |

Warping fretboard Ok, so the rosewood fretboard decided to start to warp, a couple of days after fret slotting and radiusing. 🙄 Over the whole length the difference between opposite corners is 1-1.5 mm right no... |

RE: Warping fretboard @swepri. I would think a warp in the fretboard would not matter at all. Once it is glued down to the neck it will stay as straight as the neck is. There is so little wood left in the fretboard that it... |
