@powerful : Looks excellent! Maybe tiny bit low?...you can check it with the fretboard on it should be about 7-8mm...so with the frets in 8-9mm.
When finished, a ruler placed along the top of the frets should arrive roughly at the top of the bridge.
The beauty of the bolt on system is that you can still easily make adjustments right up until you glue the fretboard.
Measure twice, cut once...
@powerful looks really nice. Great work. As Mark said just make sure the neck angle is right. That was the big problem with my first one. Mine was too shallow and I didn't realize until I was trying to do the set up. On my second guitar I stuck the actual bridge on the guitar close to where it was going to be and used a straight edge down the fretboard to visually see I was happy with it. And that one set up like a dream.
Hi mark. All looks pretty good to me. I’ve taken some pics to show where I am with it. The neck is secured with one bolt for the sake of the photo setup. Thanks
Back of neck carved and sanded. Volute and heel carved and sanded also. Starting to look nice but further sanding required. Cheers
Tidied up the headstock on sanded all around again and now it’s much better. Still needs final sanding etc but fitted to body it’s looking ok. I think the next job is fretboard kennelling and dot markets. Cheers
Dot markers and side dots in followed by frets today. All ready now for the final sanding process tomorrow. Cheers.
@koendb thanks very much. It's all masked up now and ready for sealing etc. Should look pretty good as long as you don't look too closely. It's at this stage where I need to be brutally honest with myself and not to intentionally overlook things. I'm sure your build will be excellent. Cheers
