RE: Bathroom panel Tele 🚿

@boo What is that paint job like? Its got a good finish on it, feels a bit plasticy, I wonder if its been plastic coated, maybe powder sprayed/coated rather than painted.

RE: Bathroom panel Tele 🚿

@boo - I think you misinterpreted what I meant 😉 Robin's body split because there wasn't enough thickness of the wall of the guitar once he'd hollowed out the cavities, not because the body itself ...

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

Congrats on that Robin. Now you'll have to do an emergency dash back home to collect all the bits to be able to put it together. I sometimes wonder if the builds-that-go-wrong-but-are-rescued are mor...

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

Its been nearly 3 months since I've done anything to this build. But I've cleared a bit of shed space at the caravan and got some room to work. The clear space is only temporary though, my first grand...

@swepri What are your thoughts on the wipe on laquer? I've been looking at it at the Crimson site, but have not seen any reviews or examples before. They recommend sanding to at least 320 grit, so ...

A change of plan, it turns out that I didn't like the turquoise after all. I kept going with it and was going put it all back together again because I want to play it. I was telling myself that I'd st...

Not another 12 string semi-hollow thru-neck Tele-esque build ... 😆 What a great build thread, and a few interesting design ideas that I might well pinch (sorry, "be inspired by") on a build ...

Been thinking about the ply-guitar. IIRC, @robin had a problem with a body which he'd hollowed out, but the edge then split when he applied pressure to it. If hollowing out a solid piece of timber, y...

@boo Cheaper kramers were plywood with a veneer on the back and front. As for the weight, ply varies, can have a lot of air pockets unless it's really posh ply lol

@tyreman Try using a tap and dye set to recut the thread where you can access it, it might just get it to work.
