@tv101 This Easy French polish looks like it might hit the sweet spot between hardcore violin varnish and Danish Oil. 
Question: does it leave a ring on the guitar when you leave a nice, hot cup of tea on it?

Those of a sensitive disposition look away now.
That is a Vox Tornado which I bought in Harare for £40 in 1984. Then I did terrible things to it.
But my projected laminated semi-hollowbody will be partly modelled on it.
