Yes I thought these would get knocked out on a CNC machine and I couldn’t think of a way to do it with a router. It’s not the end of the world, I would probably just route the whole cavity, certainly ...

I would do that by routing first and then finishing by hand with a chisel (*edit: Gouge) - without serious machine like CNC I'm not sure how else it could be achieved. Maybe someone else can chime in?
