@liebe spalted is good, un spalted can be quite heavy but good for a semi hollow like a thinline tele or that

With osmo I finish the neck first then oil, that’s what I did on the copper tele with oak board. Worked great. 

@drewbag Not magnets but I generally do about 5 or 6mm with wood covers. I just screw them down though which helps if they curve a bit. You could try gluing a veneer of wood to say 2mm aluminium. That…   Read more»
