Maybe sandpaper on a brush handle
Thats exactly how to do it. You just need different diameter brush handles to match the radius of the your many gouges.

Very nice Neil. Did you draw it out by hand. Very neat lines and curves. I’m trying to do some designs but I’m using compasses and french curves. My freehand drawing skills are not the best.

@nsj I was wondering what the advantages of a roasted maple neck would be, so did a bit of googling too and came up with this, https://myguitarlair.com/roasted-maple-guitar-neck/ Improves tone of the wood (clearer and richer) Better tuning stability and intonation…. Read more»

@nsj The segment I’m talking about is part of another video or class. I remember it as an alternative way for installing the neck and it kinda makes it look like a neck-thru. Oh well, I’ll keep looking. @tv1 isn’t… Read more»

I like the curves on that design @nsj – I can’t do anything quite like that on this build, but I had something similar in mind.
Also really like the fact that you use proper cavity covers on your builds!! -

Ok operation new neck is under way, the decision has been made.
Look on the bright side, you get to do one of the fun parts again. I think carving the neck is my favourite part of guitar making.
