@nsj I actually can sharpen the blades alright, but my planing technique is so bad I can’t make the wood flat… 🤨 
Practice makes perfect, I suppose.

@nsj Yes I know you meant flattening, I just wanted to point out that you can also do the radius with a plane. I never get good results with sanding alone and it takes too much time 🙂

Maybe sandpaper on a brush handle

Thats exactly how to do it. You just need different diameter brush handles to match the radius of the your many gouges.

Very nice Neil. Did you draw it out by hand. Very neat lines and curves. I’m trying to do some designs but I’m using compasses and french curves. My freehand drawing skills are not the best.
