RE: Another Floyd rose question.

Well I would say yes to a recess, looks great and allows loads of travel in both directions. I think the gotoh floyds are about 11mm overall so I aimed for about 10mm so the bridge would sit just into...

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@swepri me three but they've always been A for audio and B for linear. No idea where anyone buys the back to front crazy pots lol

@tv101 excuse me, I'd like to buy some pots off you, could you send them out so I can test them before paying? Thanks 🤣

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@robin I've got to ask, where did you find these weirdo pots? 🤣 I generally stick with alpha and cts for the most part as I can get both in metric which means an 8mm shaft, the metal nobs I...

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@swepri every pot for guitar I ever see is either china, japan or usa made anyway, can't say I've ever seen a european pot. Seen reference to vintage pots using a C though lol

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@robin how sure are you? It's how they sound that I notice them. Audio taper sounds gradual, Linear sounds like a switch lol. Every A and B pot I've used has sounded as it should.

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@swepri never seen that yet, I've used all sorts and every A has been audio taper and every B has been linear. Are you sure about the US Euro thing?

RE: Neck wood

@tv101 do you believe carbon rods actually do anything? That somehow they'll stop a neck from twisting if it wants to? Personally I think it's a fad to sell us guitar people more stuff we don't need l...

Answer to: Floyd Rose routing

Yeh what Mark says, I do all the routing while the body is flat then carve after. Whether actual carve top or just doing arm and belly carves.

Answer to: Another Floyd rose question.

If the neck is parallel, the bottom of the fretboard is usually about 2mm or so higher than the top of the body. With this one I wanted the fretboard at body height so I had to do a slight angle but n...

RE: A learning day

Just buy 10mm acrylic off ebay and make a bigger base, works great. I've done both my trim routers and one I can clamp upside down for doing small jobs. I have the same template set too, used it a few...

RE: Neck wood

@tej Ash makes a beautiful neck, done a few myself with zero issues but I always do a volute which may or may not help. Northern/european ash. It's the denser , heavier hard one. Southern ash aka swam...

RE: Neck dilemma

Grab a gotoh nut, they're cheap but superb, front or rear mount and you can get a 43mm. Still keep most of the width that way. Might be an easier option because you could sand most of the extra away t...
