@tv101 you could try shellac. It s easy to apply, its easy to fix afterwards and it does not feel sticky. moreover, it works together well with almost any other finishing and or coloring method.

@dave If you just type in 'tonewood' in google, you'll find tons of suppliers. I bought wood via Ebay here and there and I am pretty happy with what I got so far. But I prefer to buy from other place...
