@mattbeels pretty much but I’ll sand the veneer to roughly match the rough headstock profile. Suggestion from Mark is to drill an 8mm hole and ream it out to 10mm to remove chance of breakout. Don’t have a reamer so…   Read more»

@russ so I mentioned to Mark about this and I need keep the headstock “core” over 13mm which makes sense, I think I might just surface route .5 to .8 mm off each side and then route the veneer down…   Read more»

After I’ve applied the veneers and got the edges level with the headstock is there any reason not to surface route the laminate? Ones I ordered are 2mm think and really only wanted 1mm.
