Hi just signed up. It was great fun building "The Phoenix" the week before last with Neil, Martin and Jim, who each built stunning guitars.. Photos to follow.

I don't think you need any additional strength in the neck just a longer scale length.

Okay, I ditched the “amateur” rattle cans (nearly) @robin 😂 I did use more of the isolator (rattle can), let it dry and sanded it back, ready to take some nitro primer. Attachment : 7C07B...

Okay. Problem solved. I made a couple shims and then glued and sanded them. Now the neck fits nice and snug like it should.

More work happened today. Might have screwed up as I cut the start of the scarf joint today, but the back (glue side) of my neck wasn't planed and so I had to run it through the drum sander to get it ...

Did some doodling on the bridge assembly. The plan is to make a few from aluminum to get the size and shape correct, and get the saddles to adjust properly. Then, I'll machine them from something hard...
