@usadave Mark has loads of vids under the live tab, not quite the same but tons of brilliant info in them. I use his neck carving method which takes a fraction of the time and also learnt how to do… Read more»

@usadave That’s a beautiful build Dave, well done. 👍 Great advice from everyone commenting already. Nothing I can add to that really. The more you build, the more you get used to judging distances and adjustments. If it’s an unusual… Read more»

@USADave show us the bridge and also what scale you’re planning. For instance using a T.O.M type bridge with a 24.75 scale I find 630mm to be the sweet spot for the initial scale line then add 3mm for… Read more»

@usadave You could spend ages messing about with it, using various methods but it’s not worth it for me. I would just start again with a new blank. Don’t throw this one out or burn it, you can use it for… Read more»

@usadave Hi Dave, was the neck blank quarter sawn or slab cut? I agree that leaving it for a few days to see if it settles. If it doesn’t move from the position that it is in then try supporting… Read more»

@usadave Personally I think you should leave it and move on. Unless you replace the headstock veneer the repair will always be visible and that is probably worse than a tuner that’s slightly off. Plus you’ll see the repair on… Read more»

How would one go about doing that? Dowel and redrill? Fill it with black epoxy? Don’t bother? @usadave Yeah, if you wanted to do it, just dowel it and redrill etc but personally I would leave it, get the guitar… Read more»

@usadave Dont be too hard on yourself. You’re probably making a comparison with factory guitars which are mostly made on CNC machines these days and a hand built guitar is never going to achieve that level of accuracy. When I… Read more»

Mark was not kidding putting a radius on ebony is a nightmare @usadave It’s looking good Dave. One thing you have to remember about radiusing a fretboard by hand is to keep checking the height at all four corners, that… Read more»
