COSTS FROM £1499 Bolt on/Set neck & from £1899 Thru neck INC all standard wood (but not pickups ) and all daytime refreshments
We have a limited number of workshop places every year, depending on the guitars being built. The fee reserves one of those places for 2024 (and beyond if needed)
Our courses are intended to be flexible to accommodate as many different builders and their availability. There are opportunities to come and build over a week, or spread your build over 2 or more visits (weekends or weekdays)
The booking fee reserves a place on a course starting in 2024. It also includes a reduced fee Zoom design session plan your build in detail. You will also receive a T shirt or a Hat , or Apron. Booking fee is non returnable should you change your mind (but you keep the merchandise etc).
About This Course
We can only build for 5 consecutive days max- which means our Bass courses can be completed over a week, or split into 2 or more visits
Duration : 6 day course (set neck or bolt on) or 7/8 days( min basic thru neck), but will be offered over different dates throughout the year . Students can come a day at a time, or over a week, and builds (and payments) can be spread over any preferred time period
This is the course for those who want to build a bass to their own spec – eg own designs, carve top (adds a day), trem(adds a day), inlays(from a couple of hours to days !), midi etc . Each extra spec item will add time as well as some material cost and extra days.
BUILD DATE PICK & MIX OPTIONS : August 17-21, 24-31, Oct 19-26, Nov 16-23
We will discuss with you dates available and your preferred timescale to start and finish your project – electric builds take place along side acoustics and can include any of the dates of other BYOG courses( and local weekend dates not listed on the shop- ask for more info)
Booking
This Booking fee is non returnable if you change your mind & decide not to come (but you still have the design& merch etc). We will ask for a deposit of at least 25% to turn the reservation into a firm booking – at least a month before the course starts or when it is fully booked, and the full balance (plus any upgrades) is payable before the end of the course. Payments can be made in regular installments or lumps, by a variety of methods – please ask for more info
All we need to agree at the outset are start dates, although if being given as a present these can be decided with the lucky receiver after the event !
Deposits/are only kept if course places are cancelled within a month of the start date and the place cannot be filled – we are happy to transfer the booking to other dates if unforseen circumstances occur
About this course
Accommodation. Hotels, B&B & Self catering accommodation available locally, and for groups or families also -ask for information. We plan to have simple self catering rooms attached to the workshop available (but we are not walking distance to any shops, pubs or cafes.
We also offer ON-LINE step by step courses for build at home projects through our membership
