Rutlands aren’t usually the cheapest, but at near half-price, if anyone is looking for a smaller pillar drill, thought this might be of interest?
The pillar drill was yesterday, bobbin sander today if anyone’s on the lookout for one of them.

Cheers @tv101. I bought one on the same deal last year. It's a great little drill for most jobs but the depth from the post to the drill isn't enough for drilling the holes for fitting bridges...... good deal though.

For anyone wanting a(nother) router, Rutlands have, today-only, got a 1/4” router on a deal at half price - £49.99
My trusty old 1/4” router dates from B&Q in the 1980s, so I’ve just splashed out.

@nsj - I’ve got a couple of 1/4” and my big heavy Bosch Pro 1/2”.
But as one of the 1/4”s is ~35 years old, it might be getting to retirement age!
At full price, I’d not have bothered, but at half-price just because the box is wrong, seemed too good to miss. Dispatched already …
And it means I can leave one one a large Perspex base permanently.

@tv101 I've got a bosch, some makita clone and a ferrex from aldi, the ferrex thing is a sweet tool. so smooth and fairly quiet. Bosch is great with the fence for doing the trussrod and for bigger jobs. Makita clone is an animal lol.
I bought 10mm acrylic off ebay and made new bases for the small routers, works great.
@tv101 Using it or a router table your fingers are going to get reasonably close, you have to use a bit of common sense so if the wood catches your fingers don't get pulled into the cutter.
But that was a test, I usually clamp the piece on the edge of the bench, rout a bit, change position then rout a bit and so on. I can't say I'm super keen on my fingers being close to the cutter either lol
