This is The Best Song by Led Zeppelin that I've heard....... in this moment.

What a good idea for a new topic @Russ!
😉
Though picking Led Zepp to start with - wow - starting at the top. I'm going to have to do some careful listening to work out my favourite track, and avoid the obvious pick ...
(Stairway, btw, if you were wondering!)

We’re supposed to stick with Zep? Okay...
Hey @mattbeels. It can be any band you want but all opinions welcome for Zeppelin.

I've been thinking about this since @Russ started this topic yesterday!
My knee-jerk response was "Stairway". Think Led Zep, think Stairway. It's surely their absolute classic?
It's also one of the (very) few songs that, when my wife hears it, she says "turn it up".
(Her default response to anything I normally play is "turn it down"!).
But it's a cliché because it's so popular and well known. And because it's so popular and well known, it's a cliché.
This morning it hit me ...
It's this;

Why?
Because those are track1, and track2, of side1, Led Zep 1.
The first tracks that the album-buying world will have heard when they played the first album. And, back in those days, buying and listening to an album was an event. It wasn't a click & skip Spotify finger-jerk. It was something that you prepared for, anticipated, remembered, treasured.
Those tracks will be indelibly saved in the memories of thousands, millions, of people.
Also shows both "sides" of the band, from the heavy riffs to the delicate acoustic finger picking.

How about we give Led Zep 3 pages for suggestions and comments, and then @mattbeels can nominate another band, and start another discussion?

Celebration Day was one of the best concerts ever, the DVD sends shivers, I was in the lottery but alas never got tickets to go, Kashmir from that Gig has to be one of the best performances of any band ever.
My favourite studio track of theirs is Ramble on - it has it all. Good times bad times is a close second.
Give up the news folks, it’s liberating!

I agree, @mattbeels should nominate the next band. 🤘😁🤘🎸

I have that DVD too @Peebee - agree - it's a wonderful experience to put that on, turn up the volume, and just forget the world ...

Yeah I guess I got a tad (dazed and) confused on the theme here. I blame it on @tv101 by following up with a Zep track in the first place. 🤔, yep that sounds reasonable. 👍
Thanks to tv and @boo for the nomination to choose the next band but it makes me feel as if we’re (I’m) changing the point of the thread so I will defer to @russ to see what he has to say.
Pratice on scrap...
...and are you sure you want me to pick the next band? My first thought was something outrageous like Slayer or Morbid Angel or Pig Destroyer or The Mentors or Cattle Decapitation or Anal Cunt or...

Pig Destroyer
@mattbeels Oh you know David Cameron then?
