I donโ€™t know whether any of you follow Cameron Cooper on YouTube? I think he is an amazing new generation, rock/metal guitarist and musician and this song Heroes just shows how skilled he is. I think he has encapsulated all the good stuff from the 80s and 90s rock/metal era and put his own unique spin on it.

I am taking โ€œHeroesโ€ as being about us in this forum. We are fighting for a revolution, a brand new world. It is my personal fight against โ€œguitar snobberyโ€ and to tear down the walls of convention. THIS IS THE REVOLUTION! 🤘🤪🎸

My favourite song today proves that a pedal steel guitar is not only suited for bluegrass or hillbilly music.

The word "jam" in any song title is normally a warning sign @marcel.

The word "jam" in a live / gig recording, is definitely a warning sign ... "beware, 20mins of self-indulgent twiddling (and a drum solo) ahead".

The word "jam" in a live / gig recording from a Jazz Festival ... well, how much warning does any person need?

ย

ย

But I really enjoyed that.

So I'm now completely confused.

And now for something completely different ... something else from my growing-up years ...

@louis-kerckhove

A great band, and a great song.

But I humbly suggest that the master's version is better ...

ย

My own cover version attempt (I'm on rhythm guitar & vocals) ...

I know JJ Cale is the original writer of the song. But i really like the cover of lynyrd to, because they give it their own style which i really like. A great cover man! I wouldn't be able to it as good as you :), i only have been playing for 8 months, i am now learning the highway star solo by deep purple, i can play it all the way through but now i need to get it up to tempo. You also have a great voice, u are blessed!

Apart from being a generally great guy, he's written (and played) some great music.ย  Check out Rhino's Revenge II (CD).

ย

Only managed to see him play live once.ย  Who knows - might be able to make it twice one day ...
