I've found my black trem! A Wilk vs100, Stewmac 122 euro's......

Next: Locking tuners.....ย

I got a couple of Irongear PU's with Axetec and they also have these tuners:

Any good?

Measure once, cut straight away and maybe you're lucky......

I find axetec stuff to be surprisingly good @e-den-hertog

I've recently gone back to their pickups because (a) I'd never had a problem with the sound or build quality and (b) whilst some other brands have increased price quite considerably, Axetec have stayed stable.

I've also used their tuners on builds, and again found no problems.

All their stuff is manufactured in China, but I think Keith (Mr Axetec) does the design work and also keeps a close eye on quality.ย  You *can* buy cheaper, but I'm not sure you can get the same quality, and consistency of quality across all products, cheaper.

@boo I used one of those Grainger ferule blocks on a previous build. Good gear let down by me putting the bridge in the wrong place. Forgetting to put the insert back in and partitially routing out to the size of the master template was also a bad move 😀 😀ย

Ony thing I didn't like was having to use an ofset/standard router bit, which made seeing what I was doing a lot harder. Would be nice if they were sized for bearing bits...

I found these top loaders very easy to use - no drilling holes through the body and no break angle for the neck to worry about. Most sites have for under ยฃ20ย

Get the order in quick @e-den-hertog - you don't know what shipping will be like once Europe cuts itself free from the UK at the end of the year ...

@russ No, I havenโ€™t used them yet. I did send an email to them maybe a couple of years ago, they replied and said they had a really heavy workload and would be back in touch. Iโ€™ve never heard back from them since but I may try contacting them again in the future.ย

Thanks @boo. That's not a good start. Hopefully it'll be a better experience next time. I thought that it sounded like a good company. 🤔ย

@russ

Creamery have a good reputation.

Trouble with lots of the better smaller companies is that they get swamped with work. ย That means they either have to expand (which is something they might not want to do) or throttle their order book, or piss of a lot of customers by taking orders that they canโ€™t fulfil quickly.

@russ I have heard from a mate the creamery pups are great - he put some 72 Tele Custom pups in his tele and he said they are awesome. They have a great rep as @TV101 has said..they also make some great guitars.

They are local to me in Manchester and have been meaning to give them a try.

On the Bridges you mentioned earlier on in the thread (sorry still catching up) for me the Hannes bridge is fantastic and have put on a couple of builds..sustain for god and are so comfy to play on (palm muting etc.)

I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
