Chris Eccleshall allowed me to shape the Sycamore Neck on this 'Electric Lady 103'

He had to stop me half way, as I was over vigorous and just began to develop a curve along lower edge of fretboard  - easily done!

It turned out nice in the end .

'Electric Lady ' Bare Knuckle PuPs sound great.

I clearly remember felling that tree - very spalted.

Blues guitarist/songwriter Bex Marshall has enjoyed spanking this Lady since 2009.

How did your first neck turn out?

My one and only neck was a joy to carve, I can't describe the satisfaction of transforming a plank of wood into a guitar neck using nothing but hand tools. I crowned and polished the frets yesterday, so should be playing it soon.

I'm struggling to remember...I think the first one I made completely from scratch was a bass - still out there somewhere...

Measure twice, cut once...
