My addiction to (bass)guitar building was incurable, so in 2008 again I returned to the Bailey workshop. This time to make a fretless bass.
Swamp ash body with a figured walnut top, maple (scarfed) neck with an ebony fingerboard.
Lindy Fralin Jazz pickups, two volume controls, Wilkinson bridge and Gotoh tuners.

Apart from his fabulous skills he was a very nice man. Last time I saw him was when he visited Amsterdam and we spent a nice afternoon chatting about all good and bad things in life. Shortly after that he was diagnosed with his fatal illness. I cherish the memory of him.

@marcel Yep, great little video. It does go through me a bit because it have got a bit of tendinitis in my left arm because of holding guitars up and out whilst spraying. I’m going to build a guitar holder on a lazy susan type contraption that will hold the weight whilst I spray.
What product was he spraying onto that lovely guitar?
I never met Billy but from what I have seen people write, he was a wonderful soul.
Make guitars, not war 🌍✌️🎸
Great video of spraying Billy!

Both comment are spot on...top man Billy and a spraying craftsman..although when he got talking quickly I could have done with some subtitles...
A gentleman this will be sorely missed. I hope Fiona and Lewis think of fond memories of Billy every time they see a Bailey guitar with his finishing skills.
I have too many guitars...said no one in the world..ever!
