The story started with a new UPV front door to replace the old mahogany front door, hate wasting timber so I broke it down to its panels and Stiles, and made an electric guitar out of it.

Carved the top and bottom out of joined up panels,

I went for the es 335 shape but arched the top more like a violin shape

Made the neck from a laminate of four lengths, the fretboard I scavenged from an old guitar but changed the marker dots

Final assembly, all the clever bits went in, twice, due to a dodgy pot, learnedca valuable lesson, test before fitting. Hollow bodies are a pain feeding everything through a pup hole

That old front door looks pretty good!

The old fence in the background is looking a bit nervous ....

That's what I used to do, the paint was left over from a 1948 Ford F1 pick up I restored. Just loved the colour,

Thanks for the comments

Hey this is excellent, it looks amazing. Well done but don’t forget to lock the front door at night!

Thanks guys for the great comments,

I took it to my local music centre to get one of the guys there to try it out, I'm only a bit of a strummer, he was well impressed,

Sounds amazing too, cant load vidio as file size is too big

Edit to a clip and try that (use a copy so you keep the ordinal vid intact)

Or reduce the video quality (saving at lower res really reduces the file size), or just upload a sound clip.

That's a good idea actually - we all post loads of *pics* of our guitars, rarely do we post any sound/video clips.
