Shortly after finishing my first build at home I started working on a Strat model and a Jazz bass.

Strat:

Mahogany body, maple neck and fretboard, Tonerider Pure VintageTRS1 pick-ups, Gotoh tuners and bridge.

Strat3
Strat groot

Jazz bass:

Mahogany body, maple neck and fretboard, Fender pick-ups, Gotoh tuners and bridge. And a grey mirror scratch plate.

I donated these two to a secondary school in Amsterdam (Hervormd Lyceum Zuid) where Eric, my lifelong friend is a music teacher.

This Strat is really nice, I do like mahogany although I have stopped using it now due to my issue with the Amazon being destroyed.

I love this Jazz bass as well, I’ve got a Squire JBass which is effectively the same shape. I intend to copy it for my first bass build. I didn’t realise you had built so many guitars, it’s all very impressive @marcel

Thanks for your kind words John. Yes I've built some guitars and basses over the last 10 years. Will post some more of it soon.

Likewise, I'm a little uncomfortable with the Amazon being burned down, but there are plenty other sources of Mahogany - don't assume that its all Brazilian.

Seeing yours ...

Reminded me that I've not picked this up in a while ...

Though mind has a Walnut top over a chambered Ash body - so very different in materials.  But then all Strats look the same ...
