So, it wasn’t going to work. 😔 I soaked shop towels in thinner (reducer) and wiped all the candy off (purple and gold), right back to the blank canvas of the flake again. 

I tried to wipe off some of the gold from the purple but I just rubbed all the way through to the silver flake (sealed with clear coat, obviously). 

I realised that because I was spraying gold over the whole lot, including the purple. Guess what happened? Yep, the purple turned more and more red as I sprayed more coats of gold on. The gold is effectively yellow, so…   Read more»

Ok, time for the gold candy. Looks ok doesn’t it? Not exactly. 

I offered up the scratch plate and thought it looked ok. 👍 

All was going well, so it was time to unmask. 

I wasn’t quite happy with the masking on the top, not swirly enough, so I adjusted it a bit. I then got some purple on there. Coincidentally, the name of this candy purple is, Purple Haze. 💜
