@boo looking at the degree of interlocking grain I’d probably ID this as sapele but no matter, if it’s straight grained it should still make lovely body or parts for a composite neck.

Gibson Memphis have their pre-slotted fingerboards supplied by a third party. I know where they could buy a jig - good price - and then they’d be able to do their own!
