RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@robin sounds like the switch is dirty, before pulling apart try some violent switching or switch cleaner then some violent switching. Bad switch is the only thing that makes sense otherwise the neck ...

And in this heat too - ouch, that's going to be "uncomfortable". Congrats on the second practice run at getting it all into place ... third time lucky? 😉

Make sure you get the hairdresser done before the childbirth. You don’t want to be having a bad hair day on all the grandad-holding-the-baby photos. 😉

RE: Robin's build #003 (take 2)

@tv101 We could all send our spare parts up to you to fit? You could make a 4 pickup, 5-string guitar with 1 volume and 3 tone pots and 2 bridges That would be very kind, but I'll just bide my time...

Another delay in fitting the hardware, can't find it. Searched the shed, house, garage and car last night, its not at home. Its got to be in the caravan somewhere, thats me back in limbo again.

RE: Renaissance guitar

That's an incredible piece of workmanship Koen, proper old-school skills, and it looks like a beautiful instrument at the end of it. You'll have fun playing that in the local bars ... 😉 Big, BIG WOW...

RE: first scratch build : a neck through 12 string semi hollow telecaster style guitar

@tyreman Nice! I love how you have the neck through to show through the end section on the top. I might use that idea in one of my future builds.

RE: Renaissance guitar

Yesterday , I finished the tuning pegs by cutting them to length and adding the string hole. This is done with a little jig. Basically a block of wood with a tapered hole to accept the pin and a 1.2mm...

@tyreman I start working again on the renaissance guitar in september. If I find the time, I will start sanding for finishing before that. I just have too many things on my plate at the moment.

RE: A pair of SS Stangs

Interesting to watch the body finish evolve in (sort of) real time through the various stages. Request echo'd! Particularly the final coats that add the shine (what's in that tin?).

@clinton I love the color scheme of those bursts! Can you tell a bit more about what you are using ( dyes and finish )?
