RE: A workshop was born

@mattbeels well when you put it like that, what's a bit more work right? The course is so well broken down into manageable chunks it makes it all seem doable.

RE: A workshop was born

Thanks Matt Appreciate your input. If I had room I'd always choose Wadkin 4 phase. Axminster Craft has good reviews, but it's all in the setting up.

RE: A workshop was born

@eddie6string I get the impression that Axminster is the UK equivalent to Grizzly in the US. I have the feeling that they make good stuff but I’ve never seen their tools over here so I’ve never bother...

RE: 1pm Today Guitar Making LIVE - Your Q's Answered!

Agree with all of that @mattbeels. I'm not really sure why I sold that one 🤔 But I guess that's the danger with selling guitars - sometimes you'll sell one that you later regret selling ...

RE: 1pm Today Guitar Making LIVE - Your Q's Answered!

@tv101 Those BVG LP’s are cool! A old customer of mine has one. I really liked the textured Giger/Alien like finish-no pickup frame on the bridge pickup-P90 in the neck-clear cover plates-no pickguard...

The good thing about my DeWalt is that the on/off switch is on one of the grab handles and it latches but is easy to switch on and off - the other handle locks the depth of the cut so you always have ...

Oh, make a big base plate for it using 1/4 thick acrylic. Or even hardwood will work just harder to see. The day I did that @clinton, my routers became a whole lot more useful! I should have done it...

I have standardised on 1/4” router bits so that they fit all of my routers and I don’t need to swap collets on routers - just another thing to slow you down! I've got one router that can take 1/2" (o...

RE: Routers

I have a Von Haus router (lots of other names) with my wide Perspex base attached - it was an open box example and it was only £40 as the new ones were about £60 at the time.

I picked up a second hand DeWalt DW621 just like Mark’s for about £80 on eBay - full working order and there is good spare part availability.

Yup @boo - I've been busy reading, and just caught up with Matt's post. I had a kill switch on a Gibson BFG LP a few years ago. Never used it (swapped it out for more traditional wiring!), but it w...
