I know there are people around who claim that they can hear the difference between the different glues used for neck/body joins (it just has to be proper hide glue, but only the '57 recipe, nothing la...

In the middle of the Pacific @clinton I think you have the best deal as far as accommodation is concerned. I have never been to Hawaii but it sure does look amazing.

RE: Cheap or free woods

I have a big fat piece of Sapele that has been in my garage for years, easily big enough for a large body blank. After that, I have a few big pieces of pine which I have used before. It’s not the best...

I do love the fact that you are trying to turn as much of your house as you can into guitars before you sell it. You hear about people taking all the light fittings and bulbs with them when they move....

That’s a nice quilted maple front door that you used to have ... @tv101 I wish! Unfortunately it’s one of those new fangled, bullet-proof composite front doors, could be a bit heavy for guitar making...

RE: Quilted Maple

@darrenking I think that quilted stuff is unbelievably beautiful and I agree, I would only ever buy it for caps. It’s just ridiculous to consider having a full thickness blank.
