Hi all, if anyone is after a LARGE quality vice, Axminstertoolsoutlet on Ebay are selling "Axminster Trade Vices Quick Release Carpenter's Vices - 225mm (9") " for £54.96 rather than £99.88 free P&P. It's a really heavy monster of a vice. Mine arrived today and will need my son to help me fit it to my bench it's that heavy! They've also got loads of other tools in their outlet.....and NO I don't work for them 😁

I had a big engineers vice on my garage workbench, it was far too high for planing wood and took up too much space. I bought a old used clamp on vice for £20. It didn't fit, the clamp opened to 60mm, my bench is 69mm thick. So this morning I cut a 15mm slice off the bottom front edge of my bench, now all is well.
