@Schwifty. I would explain but Mark covered this in one of his you tube live streams. Search for it in his channel. Explains how. Making dowels and hammering it in metal tubing or plug cutting dots. Been doing it myself.

@eddiesixsteing. Yup I know what you mean, do you route a slot or chisel? I tend to chisel and carefully sand to avoid ruining the fretboard if your route is askewed or too deep. 

Truss Rodding always scares me the most. Wonky, too deep, uncentered, tear out. Atleast one of those seems to happen. My nemesis.

Howaa! It worked. 2mm walnut veneer ca glued over plastic humbucker rings. Been contemplating doing it. Adds a nice touch I must say and can be oiled.
