RE: Finishing without darkening the wood 45 quid sounds like a rip-off...... Go to a good paint store, buy some quality polyurethane laquer and a bottle of mineral spirits and make your own wipe on. You should be good for about two tenners..... |

RE: Using 2k auto clear You can wipe shellac on with a rag, a couple of coats. Then level it with very fine wire wool or 1500 grit paper. Then spray over it with 2k. |
