Thanks Mark, that means a lot. The trouble is, all the effort in making the molds, templates, jigs and solera……..all the fidling about trying to make the nut, saddle and bridge from scratch…. all the laminating of the headstock and… Read more»

This is my first ukelele – I made it from offcuts from a a hard flooring company near me and as such, was able to make a shed load of inexpensive mistakes in the course of my learning. I invested… Read more»

Hello folks,
Just wondering if there are any builders here living in the South West of England – specifically Cornwall or Devon?
Might be useful to meet up and share ideas, experiences, tools etc?
Let me know if that’s something that might work?
Cheers

I’ve got this jig ….25 or 25.5 ” scale length thatI had before I bought one of Bagpress’s excellent fretboard cutting kits.
It’s yours if you want it… Pay as you feel plus postage 😉 -

Thanks Mark,
Now that I’ve cut out the sound hole I’d struggle to cut a perfectly concentric groove so I’ll probably just live with it …….I don’t even want a bloody ukelele anyway! 🤣 -

I think that because the fretboard meets the soundboard around the 12th fret that by the time the fretboard was lengthened to cover the offending article the frets would be just for decoration……miniscule fretspacing and impossible to reach anyway. I… Read more»

Carol probably thinks I’ve been joking when I’ve commented that the Weds-Thurs-Sat cycle has kept me sane over the past months,
What happens on a Thursday that I’m missing?
