I would think that with the glued on neck you&#8217;ve got a bit more strength but looking at that picture of the bolt on I&#8217;d say that was on the limit if not a wee bit past it. <br />

Just take small bites.   A thickness planer or planer table is a lot more likely to take chips out of figured wood. With the blades reasonably new it planes a very smooth surface.
